  10.        The Common Desktop Environment (CDE) is an integrated
  11.        graphical user interface available across a number of UNIX
  12.        platforms.
  13.  
  14.        The product consists of both a run-time environment and a
  15.        development environment.  The development environment
  16.        provides facilities for developing applications which take
  17.        advantage of CDE's user interface.
  18.  
  19.        SGI's CDE has a heritage in the TriTeal Enterprise Desktop
  20.        (TED) which is no longer available.  It contains a number of
  21.        enhancements to the original Common Desktop Environment:

  24.        TEDscape TEDscape enhances the Netscape Navigator to be a
  25.               CDE compliant application.
  26.  
  27.        Graphical Workspace Manager (GWM) GWM gives you access to
  28.               each workspace as well as a view of all open
  29.               applications in the workspace.

  31.        Pluggable Authentication Module (PAM) Allows new
  32.               authentication technologies to be "plugged-in".

  34.        Session and Window Manager Tools Multiple screen support on
  35.               more than one monitor, workspace menu enhancement and
  36.               session manager enhancement.

  38.        Other Enhancements Mail tool, key bindings and resource and
  39.               environment variable enhancements.
